As i mentioned in my last entry here, i finally cancelled my cable subscription. Only to read about the ongoing discussion of media deregulation (as in "let's build monopolies") by the FCC. Well, of course most media outlets won't cover or discuss the issue, because it's not in their interest to educate the customer. C-SPAN covered some of the panel discussions last week, and as usual npr i.e. wnyc does a decent job on reporting the issue.
If you live in the USA you can do something about it by sending a letter to your congressman via moveon.org/stopthefcc. Mike Honda of California already sent me 2 automated replies, stating he will work on at least getting a postponement on the FCC's final decision.
