Very nice work! High time someone gives the Firefox community Orbit. I hope this theme is continually updated for Firefox as the browser picks up speed and mass in userbase and usability.

Looks real nice - Orbit 3+1 is my favorite Mozilla theme. Wondering if you could change the theme so the button background on the toolbar doesn't change color on mouse-over and have the Status Indicator light up when you mouse-over it.

Wow, thanks. This is my favorite theme for Mozilla and now that I'm using FireFox exclusively, I was really missing it. Great job. Thanks!

Only one problem... the separators between bars look horrible with most non-grey system colors. Could they be set to a standard color that would match the theme?

Andreas, this is what my Firefox has been waiting for. Many thanks. You will be able to post this Theme and get the deserved credit when Firefox 1.0 comes out. http://update.mozilla.org/developercp.php

Hallo Andreas,

Thank you! I have been looking for this theme for firefox for ages, and all the current themes compatible with 1.0 are nowhere near as nice :) Looking forward to it!

I have waited for this theme to be updated for a very long time.
Looks great and I hope you keep tweaking it for the new versions of Firefox.
Thank You.

Thank you!!! It looks great :):) this truly is the best firefox theme out there, and you have done a great job of porting it. Please, please keep up the good work for future versions!

The buttons are all I really need. Is there any chance of releasing this theme without the background color as weel?
Thank you.

Great work!!! someone else out there cares!
I did find this bug...
Button for extension Autohide is "doubled up"
does not look anything like it normally does.
http://www.krickelkrackel.de/autohide/autohide.htm
Are you going to have several color versions of this?

sorry, no additional colors/versions are planned.
same goes for third party addons like autohide. i'd be in deep trouble if i'd try to cover all the extensions that are out there.

Hello Andreas,
Is there a link to actually download this theme instead of having it install from the page?
Also I was asking not for additional colors just a way to remove the background color and leave only the icons and buttons.
Have a nice evening.

Thanks Andreas,
I saw the right click to download for the link and the theme yet it only gives me an install trigger and will not download the file even with a right click. The link listed in your Comment # 18 worked.
Thanks again.

Please, oh please, can you do the 3+1 version as well... the one on http://themes.mozdev.org/themes/orbit.html. That would make happy a huge lot of people! TIA, Lucian

My only suggestion on this excellent version of Orbit, is that 1.0PR supports a background color for Https sites in the address/url bar. Would you please add support for it...basically use the same "yellow" color that is behind the lock icon in the bottom status bar.
Thanks,
Jason

Strange... I instaled the theme but it remains greyed out in my themes window, and I'm unable to activate it : (
I'm running Firefox 1.0PR, and I've been looking forward to being able to install this theme for a while....

To get SomeOrbitYellow to work with FireFox 1.0 rc1...
Extract install.rdf, find the maxVersion tag and change it to 1.0... this may not be 100% correct but I've had no problems with it so far
[
Edit by Andreas: actually the maxVersion needs to be set to 0.10, which it has been since 10/06/2004. this and other changes are included in the above download/installer]

Hi Andreas, I tried the version above and FireFox rejected it.
I tried David's suggested of uninstalling and re-installing it, but had no luck.
I know a maxVersion of 0.10 (or 0.10+) is correct for the pre-release versions but I've only been able to get themes installed on 1.0 rc1 when I use 1.0 for maxVersion...
(The 1.0 pre-releases had a version of 0.10 while the 1.0 release candidate have 1.0 rc1)
Like I said I don't think it's 100% correct but it gives anyone with problems another avenue for trying to work around a false(?) rejection : )

hi andreas, great work!!!
according to your rfc ("Feel free to leave me feedback here") i have the following question:
would it be possbile to reduce the size of the "activity indicator" item? this would decrease the height of the menu-toolbar (which seems to unnecessarily high at the moment).
Christoph 04.11.2004 16:24 CET

would like to see the button sizes and "depress" animations as the Orbit 3+1 but in general you did a great job getting this to work with Firefox!.
To address several comments about background colors of the buttons on the mouse-over, this seems to be only a Windows XP issue. If you change your windows "appearance" to be "Windows Classic Style" then the button background will match the window color.

Tut mir leid, mein Deutche ist nicht gut...
I just tried installing your port of this theme under FF 1.0 and it did NOT work. I got an error message saying it was not compatible. I'm using WinXP (SP2), and I have Java RE 5.0 also, so I don't know what the problem could be....

Well done for getting out the version for 1.0 so promptly. I find Orbit the only theme for FF that isn't either ugly, far too 'cutesy cutesy', or just plain horrible. And your implementation is the best I've seen (the only one for version 1.0 but I've seen others during the beta period and yours is better). Just one thing would make it even better as far as I'm concerned, any chance of a Blue or Grey version?

DANKE!
Tobias.
