Reminds me of my trip to Tanzania about 10 years ago. I was in a hotel in Arusha, and hear a world beat/reggae type band downstairs in the bar -- playing "You picked a fine time to leave me, Lucille." (country western song; everybody loves to make up their own next line like "4 hungry children and a car with no wheels...")

I thought that was kind of great, and went down to videotape a bit of it. But no good deed goes unpunished; one of the customers didn't like being on the film, so to avoid being the ugly face of globalization myself I taped over the whole clip with a fascinating, 3 minute long look at the hotel manager's door.
